Our base camp near Skye was in the tiny town of Dornie, population 360 and home of the famous Eilean Donan Castle. It was complete luck that we ended up here. I spent what felt like days trying to find us all a place to stay on the Isle of Skye and everything was either booked {odd since I don't remember seeing a single soul on the island} or cost more than the measly 60 pounds per couple I wanted to pay {60 pounds equals 100 dollars... exchange rates are cruel}. But somehow I found a charming place off the island that fit all our criteria. And it landed us here... in Dornie.
