Sometimes when you visit a place you're a tourist, sometimes you're just going home. This trip felt a bit like going home; to one of our numerous homes at the moment. We didn't spend a lot of time seeing the sites but instead spent a lot of our time in the burbs gathered around kitchen tables and playing in backyards. It was a really great trip, reminding us of our many blessings and how even though our year in Portland had its challenges and often felt like an emotional roller coaster, God was right there with us doing a great work... as always. Why do we ever doubt?
Here are a few random photos showing how we spent the rest of our time in Portland - playing piano with Naima, working Star Wars puzzles, jumping at Sky High, Mark trying unsuccessfully to keep his hat away from Naima and Nico, etc.

One evening Francina made us Sadza, which is a staple dish in Zimbabwe. Sadza looks like a thick porridge {the white blob on the plate that looks like mashed potatoes}. You eat it with your fingers. For ours, we dipped it in the spinach and sauce, and this was all accompanied by a nice piece of fish. It was actually really good, and incredibly filling.
