Even though we're under the threat of blizzard conditions until late April*, winter finally feels like its on the way out. Our trees are starting to bud, the grass is becoming slightly less brown, and the weather is warm.
This transition out of winter and into spring means it's time to start hiking again. Joy! So in an effort to get a bit of dust off the ol' hiking shoes, we headed south to Colorado Springs and went to the Garden of the Gods. This beautiful place allowed us to enjoy a little stroll amongst the red rocks with Pikes Peak looming overhead. Minus the fact that I was officially starving midway through {and have since promised to never leave the house again without a peanut butter sandwich in my backpack} it was a lovely day.

*Today's high: 82. Tomorrow's high: 47 with a forecast of evening snow showers. Winter is never ending. But perhaps this will help put out that pesky wildfire that threatens to burn down the city of Denver...

Ahhhh, this is one of my favorite places in the world! I haven't visited in so long.
it's good to see you in shorts again, friend! These pictures are, as usual, fabulous. The sky looks so blue and endless!
