Downtown

We've been venturing downtown the past two weekends, exploring neighborhoods and searching for some places to eat {or more accurately, searching for the perfect pizza}. And for the most part the weather has been amazing {minus a freak snowstorm this past Tuesday that led to a rather harrowing drive to work. I've quickly come to peace with purchasing the most expensive pair of snow tires on the market, especially when I'm passing car after car stuck in the snow and a semi sliding backwards down I-70. As you can imagine, I'm thankful that winter is coming to a close in Colorado}.

There are a few places in town we've discovered, including The Tattered Cover {a super cozy independent bookstore}, an AMAZING soda pop and candy store, ice cream sold out of a giant metal milk jug, and after several failed attempts, a rather decent pizza pie.

This pizza didn't look too amazing, but it actually tasted really good. Not Fritti's or Hard Knox good, but better than most pizzas I've tried over the past year and a half. So thank you Proto's Pizzeria {I like what the website says: "Proto's first opened in 1999 when Pam Proto decided that in order to get true Neapolitan Pizza in Colorado, she would just have to do it herself" Thank you Pam!}.

And seriously, what a nut.
