Fish Tale Brewery

The perfect pick-me-up in the midst of a dreary Pacific Northwest January - Visitors! Two of our good friends, Josh and Dana, were in town the past four days and we spent time in Portland, Seattle, and a very brief moment in the Gorge. Since we hadn't seen them since their trip to Washington DC in 2009, it was right time for a proper visit.

After Josh had an emergency root canal repair in Portland on Friday, we packed our bags and drove north toward Seattle. En route we stopped for lunch in Olympia at a place that came highly recommended from our guidebook - the Fish Tale Brewery. This seemed like a great pick since 1) Mark and I don't drink, 2) Dana is 7 months pregnant, and 3) Josh was on an antibiotic that when mixed with alcohol of any kind, leads to symptoms similar to the effects of Antabuse, a drug that treats alcoholism by causing patients to become violently ill. Ah yes, let's go to the brewery. Brilliant choice.

The classic "pregnant woman posing in front of the brewery" pic. A must for every baby book.

But in all honesty, the food was quite delicious and reasonably priced - we highly recommend it. But if you're on medication that will cause wild vomit-sprees when mixed with even small amounts of alcohol, you might want to wait a week or so.
