If you like coffee and donuts, then you'll love the PNW. There are a plethora of both on every street corner. This past weekend we tried two places, both quite famous in donut circles -
Top Pot in Seattle and
Voodoo Donuts in Portland. It was battle of the donuts and Top Pots won. Mainly because I prefer my donuts without bacon, or cereal, or other disgusting toppings.
Seattle: Top Pot Donuts

After a bite of four different donuts, I hit donut hysteria. Between the four of us, we purchased seven, plus the cashier brought Mark a glazed one they found in the back for free. A donut, we like to joke, that was obviously found on the floor, probably pushed a bit under the fryer. Wasn't that nice of them.
A trail of partially eaten donuts.
Portland: Voodoo Donuts
Voodoo Donuts is famous and there's no good way to describe their selection, or the store really. It's just odd, and to be honest, a little gross - but I think that's how they like it. And people love it. The line was out the door and for the most part stays that way.
Below was our take: Two glazed, one chocolate, one No Name, one Bacon Maple Bar, and a Portland Cream
Ah yes, dinner.

Yeah, Voodoo has done good at getting their name out there. We had to stop when we were there. However, they have this grape donut which sounds horrifying, but was so good. Next time I'm in Seattle I'll have to try Top Pot!
yuuuummmmmm.....maple glazed anything is my favorite. I think I could even handle the bacon.
