Acadia :: Rain

Unfortunately there's not much to say about our first day in Acadia except it was wet. We arrived in the park on Friday and it rained all day. We drove the 27-mile loop to get our bearings, stepped out of the car twice, getting soaked both times, then called it quits. We headed into the nearby town of Bar Harbor and checked into a hotel. We had every intention of camping but the weather never cooperated. It wasn't so much the rain itself that changed our mind; it was the fact that by the end of the day we were drenched and wanted a hot shower and warm bed.
