Since moving to Denver, the whole dreaming of a white Christmas thing doesn't really appeal to me. We had a white Halloween, a white Thanksgiving, and numerous white Monday's and Thursday's..so I'm actually dreaming of something much more tropical, especially since we woke up this morning to a foot of snow on the ground. Of course this is Denver so life went on as usual. Fortunately my boss turned today into a "work from home" day, which consequently created a "let's go walk in the snow" day as well.

The rain pants Mark and I once used in Portland have now become our snow pants...and are incredibly effective. It's amazing how much more fun snow can be when you're not wet and freezing cold with plastic grocery bags between your socks and your tennis shoes {also, Denver snow is completely devoid of moisture so getting wet is practically impossible. You're more likely to get dehydrated by standing outside and taking a deep breath}.

These are the "death-sicles" hanging off the roof of our apartment...

In sharp contrast, my friend Francina sent me this picture today of sunny Portland. They are having one of the driest, sunniest December's ever...

How cruel.
And on a side note, today is one of my favorite days of year! Why? Because today was lighter than yesterday, and tomorrow will be lighter than today...unlike the summer solstice, which is a day of despair in my books, these are days of hope. It can only get sunnier from here on out. Yippee!

But all that snow is just SO PRETTY. We've been having the weirdest "winter" in Tennessee so far. It went from drizzly and 60 all last week to BAM! full-on ice and winter just last night.
Fun photos and I'm intrigued by this dry snow you talk about. I've only seen the ones that force me to lay all my snow gear in the hallway to dry out before being put away.
And yeah, it's been really dry around these parts as well. Not sure what's going on with that!
