When the heat index is well above 100, a person only has two options. One is to hide indoors, the other is to take to the beach. On Friday, we chose the latter and headed to nearby Tybee Island, Savannah's beach.
I can assure you Mark was the only person in the Atlantic that day wearing a baseball cap.Mark and I are not ocean people but the weather forced us in - and I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. If you looked up scaredy-pants in the dictionary, you would see a picture of us standing in three feet of ocean water.
Tybee Travel Tip: Eat at the Sundae Cafe for lunch. It looks like a complete dive, located in a 1960's strip mall next to a gas station, but it's seriously delicious.
