One of the projects that has been monopolizing my time over the past several weeks is a map for Springer Cartographics and Harper Collins publishing. It's for science fiction author Sheri Tepper's upcoming novel Water's Rising. This map was unlike anything I have ever done before, but I managed and am relieved it's in the final stages. All I had to go by was the author's sketch, and while I'm pleased with my interpretation of her fictional world, I'll be happy to have a week where I'm not trying to draw mountains and plateaus with a mouse.
I'm only posting the bottom half. You'll have to wait for the book to come out to see the rest.
