Workation :: Rhode Island

For the most part, Rhode Island just served as a waiting area until we could go to Maine. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of free time on Mark's end, but we did manage to steal away a few hours: once to walk around downtown Providence, and the other to check out the opulent town of Newport.

The Providence State House. Mark now wants to make a coffee table book of all the state houses. We have four so far: Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Only 46 to go.

The International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport. Pictured above (on the bottom-left) is the tiniest trophy I've ever seen - it was awarded to the Australian Open's Women's Single's champion several years ago. Talk about a letdown. It was the size of a tea cup. And pictured on the right is the outfit Roger Federer wore when he won the French Open. Strange since that match took place exactly 6 days before this picture was shot. Was it really that important to have it expressed from Paris? And kudos to the museum staff for getting it set up so quickly. Impressive.
