While we were in DC, Mark participated in the genographic project. This project (led by National Geographic) is attempting to map human migration through history using DNA samples. His results arrived a couple of weeks before we left (They were delayed because there was something wrong with his genetic information. For those of us who know Mark, this was not a surprise.).The Results (see map above):
Every non-African man living today has been traced back to a single man who lived in northeast Africa (in a region of the rift valley). Later, two groups of people left Africa - one to Australia and the other to the Middle East. Mark's ancestor's headed through the Middle East, into the Balkans, finally settling in Europe. His ancestors were part of the Gravettian culture, known for their carvings of fat, naked females (this explains a lot). And then the trail goes dark...
Doesn't the guy on the map look like Jack Bower?

I really wanna do this! Isnt it so weird that no one in the states has submitted their DNA as his relative. Didnt you do this too?
I think it only takes you into the US if you're a Native American. This only looks at your deep ancestry.
