Reza

Yesterday at NGS, the interns were invited to meet Reza Deghati, one of the world's great photojournalists. His photographs span 30 years of conflict in places such as Kosovo, Rwanda, and Afghanistan, and portray the horrors of war in a very powerful way. I can't imagine how he copes with the things he's seen. A lot of poetry he says, which "polishes the soul".

His Message:

"When people suffer in Africa, without knowing it we suffer in the United States too. But we don't know why were are suffering. Why we have all this distress. The message is we all have the same blood all over the world. The blood is the same color...We may have different colors, different languages, but the essence of humanity is the same for everybody. All human beings are part of one soul and body - if one part is suffering, the whole body suffers."
