It's all fun and games until someone loses a biscuit! Or, in our case, someone doesn't actually get to eat one. We were biscuit-less at Knoxville's first annual International Biscuit Festival, a festival celebrating the heritage of home cooking and that most perfect of foods - the Biscuit. Apparently this event, which we attended Saturday morning, was so popular that tickets to eat anything resembling a biscuit sold out well in advance.

Instead of biscuits, I practically inhaled a carton of black raspberries, which I purchased at the adjacent Farmer's Market. And after several hours of watching the Biscuit Bake-off, listening to some biscuit songs, and strolling thru the Biscuit Bizarre, we left. It was too hot to stand around without a biscuit to nibble on. A member of the Black Bottom Biscuit Band said it best:
This is what it sounds like to tune your instrument on the surface of the sun.
