Maps

One reason Mark and I have entered almost total seclusion since returning from Greece is due to work. I tend to think freelancing is either feast or famine, but lately it's been either feast or a really nice snack. For this I am thankful. Below is a little taste of what I've been working on.

I feel that some of my geographically-challenged friends and family could benefit greatly from the map above. It's an NG map for kindergarten thru 3rd grade. I've done two of these this year, at different levels of complexity, and in the process have learned over 150 town populations and their exact locations. Information that I don't really need and makes me sound like a dork at dinner parties.

Next I created four maps for NPR focusing on the Grand Trunk Road. They're doing an upcoming story on this historic road, which runs from Calcutta, India to Peshewar, Pakistan, on Morning Edition. These will be posted on NPR's website sometime soon. Stay tuned.

I have to admit, I AM one of your geographically-challenged friends. I LOVE the kindergarten one and need one for myself!!! I hope Lily learns lots from you because I didn't come away from much in Geography class in school. :(
