One

Because my nephew Jack turned one on Thursday, Mark and I set out on a mini-road trip to Alabama this weekend to celebrate.

Jack working diligently with his Duplo blocks while waiting for the party guests to arrive.

The party had a Lego theme, just in case you needed clarification. My brother is a Lego enthusiast, to say the least. I wouldn't be surprised if Jack's birthday has this same theme every year until he's 16.

And although Jack wasn't all too interested in the cake, he did delight in a few cheesy poofs. He must get that from his Uncle Mark.

The one picture I really wanted to get on Saturday was this one - Jack with his seven great-grandparents! Can you imagine? I only remember one of my great-grandparents and believe most had past away before I was born. I do wish I had something like this though. I could pull it out now that I'm older and say "tell me a story about this person..." Very cool.
*All four of my grandparents are still living. Also very cool. They are the handsome crew on the back row, starting on the left.

Happy Birthday Jack!
