Our weekends as of late are like mini-vacations. This past Saturday Mark and I headed into Georgetown to find a local landmark: Georgetown Cupcakes. We then enjoyed lunch at a neighborhood pizza place, strolled around town, walked along the Potomac, and ran inside the National Gallery to see some Van Gogh's. At 7 we attended the Banff Mountain Film Festival which was playing at National Geographic. The festival featured six short films about rock climbing, skiing, etc., all of which were fantastic. On Sunday while Mark drove back to West Virginia, I headed to IKEA, where I purchased the most fabulous chair and some cinnamon buns. Just another weekend in DC...
Standing in line at Georgetown Cupcakes
Georgetown Cupcakes is famous for their frosting. Unfortunately I don't like frosting so scraped that part off. The bottoms were quite delicious though.
Even though Mark is technically a "local" now, he still screams tourist, thanks to the out-dated Washington DC guidebook he carries with him at all times. Here he is reading while we wait for our pizza.
One of JFK's homes
For dinner we ate all Ollie's Trolley, a local burger place.
And this is my new chair (which I love!!!). I've been sitting here for the past hour blogging, watching TV, and enjoying the warmth of our fireplace. I love IKEA.
See Ya'ollie Later!
